Group Therapy
Connection Is Part of the Work
Individual therapy gives you space to focus entirely on your own experience. Group therapy offers something different: the chance to explore, practice, and feel understood alongside people navigating some of the same things.
There can be something powerful about realizing that an experience you've carried privately isn't actually yours alone.
Groups at Every Love Therapy are designed to be affirming, intentional, and grounded in respect for different identities, nervous systems, relationships, and ways of moving through the world. Depending on the group, sessions may include conversation, reflection, education, skill-building, or opportunities to practice new ways of relating.
You don't have to be the most talkative person in the room to belong in one.
What Groups May Focus On
Group offerings change over time and may include topics such as:
ADHD and neurodivergent adulthood
LGBTQ+ identity and connection
Polyamory and ethical non-monogamy
Relationships, attachment, and communication
Trauma and nervous system regulation
Boundaries, consent, and self-trust
Burnout and sustainable ways of functioning
Some groups may be short-term and structured around a particular topic. Others may offer ongoing support and connection.
Is Group Therapy Right for Me?
You don't need previous group experience, and you don't need to be naturally comfortable sharing in groups.
Before joining a therapy group, we'll talk individually about what you're looking for, how the group works, confidentiality, and whether the particular group feels like a good fit.
Not every group is right for every person. That's okay. The goal isn't simply to fill a chair. It's to create a group where the people in it have a reasonable chance of feeling supported and benefiting from the experience.
Group offerings change throughout the year.
If you're interested in a future ADHD, LGBTQ+, polyamory/ENM, relationship, or other affirming therapy group, you're welcome to reach out to express interest. This helps me understand what people are looking for in order to let you know when a relevant group becomes available.
Group Therapy FAQ
-
Individual therapy gives you dedicated space to focus on your own experience. Group therapy adds something different: the opportunity to learn, connect, and notice patterns alongside people navigating similar experiences. Sometimes being understood by someone who genuinely gets it can be therapeutic in a way information alone isn't.
-
No. You don't need to be an individual therapy client at Every Love Therapy to participate in a group, but I do require that you do have an individual therapist so you have the opportunity to process with them anything that might come up in a group session. We'll also meet beforehand to make sure the group is an appropriate fit.
-
You won't be expected to perform vulnerability on command. Participation matters, but people have different ways of entering a group and different amounts of time they need to feel comfortable. We'll talk about expectations before the group begins.
-
I am bound by professional confidentiality requirements, and group members are expected to respect one another's privacy as part of participating. Because other group members aren't therapists, group confidentiality can't be guaranteed in exactly the same way as individual therapy. We'll discuss this clearly before the group begins.
-
This varies by offering. Each group's description will clearly identify whether it meets virtually or in person, along with eligibility requirements and scheduling information.

Current and upcoming offerings are listed on the Groups & Events page. If nothing currently fits, you can also join the interest list to hear about future groups.
