Fees & FAQ
Therapy fees reflect more than simply time in session. They account for training, specialization, preparation, consultation, ethical responsibility, and ongoing professional development.
My goal is to provide care that is affirming, trauma-informed, and sustainable for both client and therapist.
Individual weekly therapy sessions are typically $200 for 60 minutes.
Please see the below FAQ for more details regarding fees and insurance.
A note about value and care.

I work with adults seeking affirming, trauma-informed therapy. Many clients are LGBTQ+, ethically non-monogamous or polyamorous, involved in consensual kink, neurodivergent, or looking for care that does not pathologize identity, relationships, or desire.
You do not need to fit into a specific category to reach out. What matters most is whether this approach feels aligned to your needs.

I offer both in-person therapy in Richmond, Virginia and telehealth therapy in both VA and NJ.

I am a self-pay provider and do not accept insurance directly. Many clients choose self-pay in order to access affirming, specialized care without insurance-imposed limitations. There are several compelling reasons that support this model:
It gives us the freedom to take a holistic and systematic approach to meeting your therapeutic goals without prematurely forcing diagnoses.
It ensures the maximum amount of your information privacy so that you can feel safe sharing difficult topics, especially in times where feeling safe can seem more challenging.
It reduces the administrative burden so that I can focus more of my time on providing direct care.
It allows me to keep a reasonable number of clients so that I can provide the attentive and personalized service you deserve.
I can provide supporting documentation if you wish to seek reimbursement through your insurance plan. We can discuss what that might entail so that you can make an informed decision. I do not interact directly with insurance companies.
-
I reserve a very limited number of reduced-fee slots, based on availability.
If cost is a concern, you’re welcome to ask whether a reduced-fee slot is currently available. These spaces may be full at times.
-
Payment is due at the time of session and will be charged to the payment method you choose when you set up your portal account.
Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are typically charged the full session fee. This policy helps ensure that time reserved for you is honored and that care remains sustainable.
Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency or illness.
Fees & Insurance
-
Sessions are collaborative, paced, and grounded in respect for autonomy. There is no pressure to disclose more than you’re ready to, and no expectation to educate me or justify yourself.
Therapy focuses on emotional regulation, clarity, and integration rather than quick fixes or prescriptive outcomes.
-
Most clients typically begin with weekly sessions, though frequency may change over time depending on goals, capacity, and circumstances.
We will discuss session frequency together and it can be adjusted as needed.
-
Standard sessions are 60 minutes.
Extended sessions (75 or 90 minutes) may be offered when clinically appropriate and mutually agreed upon.
-
Fit is assessed through conversation, not pressure. You’re welcome to ask questions about approach, experience, and logistics before deciding to move forward.
Therapy works best when you feel respected, understood, and able to be honest. If something doesn’t feel aligned, you should feel comfortable to share..
